K...now I get you.

Don't create a folder for each episode.

Just throw all your video files into Season 1 folder.....do this for each Season as required.

Season 1        (This is the season 1 folder, and your season 1 video files must be all in here)
       Dexter S01E01
       Dexter S01E02
       Dexter S01E03...etc

Season 2        (This is the season 2 folder, and your season 2 video files must be all in here)
       Dexter S02E01
       Dexter S02E02
       Dexter S02E03...etc

and so on......

So you mean each episode does not need to be in it's own floder and I just lump all of the MKV episodes into 1 folder called Season 1?

Yep...right.....but do this per Season.

Each Season gets it's own files.

Thanks, done that, did not get anything to suggest things were missing from Dexter, which is a step forward however when I look at the files there are no episode details now - Should the app write the episode details into the same folder as the episodes (MKV's) themselves?

Scrap that, all sorted now, thanks for your help. Had to rename the season folder 01 not just 1 and it worked perfectly, worked perfectly for Deadwood - all 3 seasons as well - top top app, congratulations.

Hi,

This looks like a great tool, but I have one question before I dig in.  Can the wall structure files be saved onto the local drive in the x3D or does everything have to be written directly into the media folders?

I ask because I use Unraid for my NAS and I'd like to avoid having to spin up 12 drives just to watch an episode that exists on one.  That's what I appreciate most about the movie jukebox.  My NAS doesn't spin up anything until I've selected what I want to watch, and then spins up only the drive necessary to stream my selection.

Thanks,
Fred

Igboo,

The files need to reside where the episodes (Series) are.
That's where the app looks for the files and processes them accordingly.

Fantastic - the only thing that would improve it for me would be different pictures per episode, but I know that's a Mede8er limitation, and not the app.

Thanks very much.

On the last page of the tutorial is says you can update your library.

I have tried to do this but when I try to tick the missing items the tick box's do not change.

I have tried changing to a different site to go to for thr missing files including binsearch

Is there a setting I have to change to allow the tick box to work so i can down load the files

This application works great. Made the mistake to scan the library from the favorites which resulted in a messed up layout, but after removing the mede8er.db the end result was exactly what I expected from a good multimedia player. Also love the fact that it creates missing directories for future additions. Thanks for the hard work!

Still wondering if it's possible to select different fanart and folder images from within the GUI, without having to manually move image files. Is this possible? Some TV series in my collection aren't available on tvdb or tvdb doesn't provide images, therefore I have to download images manually, resize them and place them in right directories. Would be great if there was some kind of Google Image search and resizer built-in to accomplish the same result.

Hi RobinC

Fanart is only available from thetvdb.com at a show level. This is the limitation here.
We could add it pretty easily to TVrename if thetvdb allowed it.

I'm using another app to download additional images if required:
Free TVDB: http://www.myportablesoftware.com/freetvdb.aspx
Features:
- automatic data download (info / cast / images) from thetvdb.com
- automatic images download from imdb.com
- multi-language series info (up to 23 languages)
- poster and fan art galleries (automatically downloaded!)

(forum members: please note I do not provide support for the app: 'Free TVDB')

Hope this helps you.

Regards
Zakkie
